Psyche Hubs
To generate chromosomal reference assemblies by the end of 2024, Psyche has established seven sampling hubs. Each hub has set out to collect and cryo-preserve at least 200 species of Lepidoptera. All sequencing for this phase is being conducted at the Wellcome Sanger Institute. To read more about the three phases of the project, visit our Roadmap.
These sequencing hub is:
- Wellcome Sanger Institute, UK
- led by Charlotte Wright, Joana Meier, Mark Blaxter
- project manager: Lora Downes
The collection hubs are:
- University of Oulu, Finland
- led by Marko Mutanen
- fieldwork coordinator: Mikko Vallinmäki
- Biology Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Czechia
- led by Pável Matos-Maraví and Irena Klečková
- University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland
- led by Kay Lucek
- Institute of Evolutionary Biology, Spain
- led by Roger Vila
- Lund University, Sweden
- led by Niklas Wahlberg
- University of Florence, Italy
- led by Claudia Bruschini and Leonardo Dapporto
- Grigore Antipa at the National Museum of Natural History, Romania
- led by Vlad Dinca
Hubs are indicated in the map below by the yellow star for sequencing and purple stars for sampling hubs, while all Psyche members are in red circles.
